SPC, CNIPA vow to strengthen IP protection
The Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) recently issued opinions on strengthening the collaborative intellectual property (IP) protection.
The opinions proposed a group of measures to optimize the cooperation mechanism and strengthen collaboration, with the aim to achieve better IP protection.
The measures include strengthening IP protection, and improving the linking mechanism between the administrative protection and judicial protection of IP.
The document further clarified the organization responsible for liaison between administrative and judicial departments, and established a consultation mechanism to facilitate information sharing. It stressed the need to improve laws and policies related to coordinated protection and to unify administrative and judicial standards in IP protection.
It also urged for more professional and technical support, research and discussions on key business areas, as well as frequent talent exchanges and training, and called for cross-regional cooperation and joint protection, and a deeper engagement in global IP governance.
The SPC and the CNIPA will deepen their cooperation in the field to support China's innovation-driven development strategy and help build it into an international highland for IP protection and a great modern socialist country in all respects.
