A report on the qualifications of 2,977 national lawmakers was submitted to an ongoing session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, on Thursday for confirmation and release.

The national lawmakers are deputies elected to the 14th NPC from 35 units across the country, according to the report.

The credentials committee said the deputies have been found to be qualified after review, which determined whether they were elected in line with the Constitution and laws and whether the election process was legal.

In another report on electing the deputies, which was also submitted to the session for deliberation, it was asserted the election of the 14th NPC deputies was carried out in accordance with the law, ensuring all regions, ethnic groups and sectors have an appropriate number of deputies.

The 14th NPC will kick off its first full session on March 5. At that time, deputies to the 14th NPC will travel to Beijing to discuss reports on the country's crucial economic and political affairs as well as draft laws with people's interests and social development in mind.
