Poland approved its first Constitution on May 3, 1791, making it the second constitutional nation in the world. It also designated the date as its Constitution Day.

A series of activities are held in the capital city of Warsaw on the day. This involves the president laying wreaths at the “Monument to the Unknown Hero” and the Medal of Honor Ceremony taking place in the presidential palace.

In 2009, Warsaw staged a grand military parade on Constitution Day. The parade started from the palace square and proceeded along the Royal Avenue to the downtown area. The grand display prompted local citizens to come out in their droves to celebrate the nation.

Mexico: Presidential speeches

After the country’s long struggle to gain independence from Spain, it is no wonder why Constitution Day is a big deal in Mexico. Feb 5 is designated as Constitution Day, and commemorates the approval of the current constitution in 1917. Though it has been amended numerous times, the constitution remains fundamental law in Mexico.

Mexicans hold activities every year on the day. On Feb 5, 2001, the country held a grand ceremony to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the approval of the constitution in the president’s palace. The president delivered speech at the ceremony and some state governors attended the commemoration ceremony.
