Zhang welcomed Tong and the delegation, noting that China and Singapore are friendly neighbors and important partners. The recent meeting between the leaders of both countries outlined new plans for deepening bilateral relations, Zhang said, adding that as this year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, Tong's visit would further enhance practical cooperation in the judicial field and contribute to more fruitful outcomes.

Zhang briefed the delegation on China's latest efforts in advancing the rule of law. He emphasized that Chinese courts are making active efforts to prevent and resolve disputes by supporting standardized development of community governance centers, strengthening coordination mechanism for diversified dispute resolution, and issuing judicial recommendations.

He expressed the hope that the meeting would serve as a catalyst for deeper judicial exchange between the two countries, promote closer communication and collaboration, and jointly advance high-quality and forward-looking cooperation in the judicial field.

Tong expressed his appreciation for the meeting and described the dialogue as candid, friendly, pragmatic, and efficient. He noted that the visit had deepened mutual understanding and set a clear direction for future cooperation. He said he hoped that the two sides will continue to strengthen collaboration in areas such as information technology, case sharing, and talent development, and to jointly uphold multilateralism and free trade, contributing positive force to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

Singapore’s Ambassador to China Peter Tan, representatives from the SPC, Singapore’s Ministry of Law, and the Singaporean embassy in China also attended the meeting.
