SPC and SPP advance judicial protection for intellectual property rights
The Supreme People's Court (SPC) and Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) held a joint press conference on April 24 to release the judicial interpretation on handling criminal cases involving intellectual property rights (IPR) violations.
Tao Kaiyuan, vice-president of the SPC,unveiled nine typical criminal cases of IPR protection at the conference, which involve common disputes over the application of law in judicial practice, reflecting the key principles of the newly released judicial interpretation and providing guidance for its accurate understanding and application.
Li Jian, chief judge of the Third Civil Division (Intellectual Property Division) of the SPC, and Liu Taizong, deputy director of the Procuratorial Office of Intellectual Property of the SPP, also attended the conference, which was chaired by Ji Zhongbiao, deputy director of the General Office of the SPC.
