Zhang Jun, chief justice and president of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China, met separately with representatives of judicial delegations from Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states and dialogue partners in Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province, on April 22, on the sidelines of the 20th Meeting of Chief Justices of Supreme Courts of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States.

Zhang extended welcome to the delegates and reviewed the achievements in multilateral and bilateral judicial exchanges and cooperation under mechanisms such as the SCO Chief Justices’ Meeting. 

He gave an overview of the progress made by Chinese courts in upholding justice through impartial adjudication, deepening judicial reform, and serving Chinese modernization. Zhang expressed hope that  the meeting would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen judicial collaboration, uphold the “Shanghai Spirit,” and jointly contribute to regional stability and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Deng Xiuming, vice-president of the SPC, Li Zhanguo, president of the Zhejiang High People’s Court, and representatives from relevant SPC departments also attended the meetings.
