He emphasized the importance of aligning personal growth with the broader development of China’s legal system, and deepening their understanding of national legal principles. Zhang also called on them to continuously improve their political awareness, legal expertise, and professional ethics, urging them to test theory in practice and refine their abilities through hands-on experience, so as to get themselves well-prepared for participation in developing the rule of law in China.

Li Chenglin, head of the SPC’s Political Department, highlighted the internship program is an important reform initiative to implement the decisions and plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and to serve the development of the rule of law. He encouraged the interns to cultivate practical skills, enhance their sense of mission, and gain deeper insights into the country’s judicial system through their work at the SPC. He also emphasized the need for support from all relevant departments in ensuring the smooth progress of the program.

Representatives from both the interns and host departments spoke at the meeting. Officials from relevant departments and all members of the 16th cohort of legal interns attended the session.
