Zhang welcomed the delegation and commended Hong Kong's prosperity and stability as integral to the nation's development and rejuvenation. The Law on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance have been effectively implemented, contributing to Hong Kong’s stability and the steady advancement of the "one country, two systems" policy, Zhang said.

Zhang briefed the delegation on topics of common interest, including the civil and commercial judicial exchanges between the mainland and Hong Kong, development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and foreign-related rule of law development. The SPC will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation with Hong Kong's legal and judicial circles and ensure full enforcement of the "one country, two systems" policy and the Basic Law, providing sound legal guarantee for the high-quality development of the GBA, he said.

Lam thanked Zhang for the meeting and said that Hong Kong will firmly uphold the "one country, two systems" policy, integrate itself into the overall national development, and strengthen the enforcement of laws and mechanisms safeguarding national security. He called for continued strengthening of exchanges and cooperation with courts on the mainland to promote the rule of law and the continuation of the "one country, two systems" policy.

The meeting followed a lecture on Hong Kong's legal system and the "one country, two systems" policy by Lam on March 27 at the SPC.
