SPC launches online poll for top 10 judicial cases in 2024
To promote the rule of law and uphold core socialist values, the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) and China Media Group (CMG) have jointly launched an online poll for the "2024 Top 10 Judicial Cases" on Jan 17. The initiative aims to highlight landmark judicial decisions that demonstrate the transformative progress in the rule of law in the new era.
Organized by the Judicial Cases Institute of the SPC, the CMG news center, the case study association of China Law Society, and the Information Department of the SPC, the campaign shortlisted 49 cases for the online poll after preliminary review. These cases, concluded between late 2023 and 2024, hold significant legal and societal influence, and span a wide range of areas, including criminal, civil, commercial, administrative, intellectual property, environment and resources, judicial supervision, and enforcement.
The campaign seeks to showcase exemplary judicial practices, foster respect for the law and promote legal literacy across society. The shortlisted cases will be featured on major media platforms, including social media accounts of the SPC and the People's Court Daily, and www.chinacourt.org.
This initiative reflects the SPC's commitment to deepening public understanding of judicial achievements and the broader significance of the rule of law in fostering fairness, justice and sustainable development.
