National seminar for justices concludes
The national seminar for justices concluded at the National Judges College on July 25. Zhang Jun, president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), attended the closing session, and Deng Xiuming, vice-president of the SPC, delivered the closing remarks.
Six justices delivered keynote speeches on such topics as promoting a law-based business environment, serving the development of new quality productive forces in line with the law, and implementing effective adjudication governance in compliance with judicial laws. Zhang gave comments on their speeches and outlined specific requirements on relevant work.
In his closing remarks, Deng said that the seminar is a reform-themed conference, with focus on implementing the strategic arrangement of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on further comprehensively deepening reform and advancing Chinese modernization.
He urged people’s courts at all levels to earnestly study and implement the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, as well as fully understand the key tasks and responsibilities of the people’s courts in implementing judicial reform and supporting efforts to comprehensively deepen reform, to ensure reforms achieve substantial results.
It is crucial to fully implement a holistic approach to national security, effectively prevent and defuse major risks, resolutely safeguard national security and social stability, and make efforts to address the risks in the ideological field, he said.
Deng also urged people’s courts at all levels to enhance their sense of responsibility and mission, fulfill the tasks for the second half of the year in line with the guiding principles of the third plenary session, and further improve the standardization of judicial work.
