He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2018, China and El Salvador have continuously deepened political mutual trust and exchanges in various fields, yielding solid outcomes in pragmatic cooperation. Pointing out that López is the first CSJ president of El Salvador to visit China, Zhang said that this trip has milestone significance and is bound to deepen judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, as well as be conducive to the sustained and healthy development of bilateral ties.

Zhang introduced the development of the rule of law and trial work in China, saying that China has achieved historical transformation and progress in this regard. Noting that the two countries share the same goals in many areas of judicial work, he raised his hope to strengthen judicial communication and cooperation with the El Salvador side, so as to provide strong judicial services and guarantees for the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

López lauded the achievements made in bilateral judicial cooperation, and introduced the trial system, hierarchy, organizational structure and information-based development of courts in El Salvador. He expressed willingness to deepen communication with Chinese courts, share good experiences and practices, and strengthen friendly cooperation in order to benefit the people of both countries.
