Zhang introduced mainland courts' work against corruption. He noted that fighting corruption is a matter of grave concern for the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the country. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the CPC Central Committee has vigorously advanced the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, and the anti-corruption campaign has achieved overwhelming victory, he said, adding that the people's courts will continue to reinforce their duties, take a zero tolerance approach to corruption and render severe punishment to prevent further occurrence.

He also acknowledged the deepened judicial exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Macao. Four arrangements for judicial assistance in civil and commercial matters have been signed, an online platform for judicial assistance between the mainland and Macao has been established, and the cross-regional judicial assistance system with Chinese characteristics has been continuously improved. Now that the cause of "one country, two systems" has entered a new stage, and Macao is striving for further development, the courts on the mainland will further implement the national strategies of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone on Hengqin Island, actively promote the coordination of legal rules and mechanisms, and support Macao in better integrating into overall national development, he said. He also raised hope for deepening cooperation in anti-corruption, aiming for the steady and long-term implementation of the "one country, two systems" policy.

Chan thanked Zhang for the meeting, and expressed his hope for strengthening Macao's connection with the mainland and deepening judicial cooperation in such areas as personnel training, investigation and evidence collection, cracking down on corruption, tracing fugitives and recovering stolen assets.
