Gao Jinghong attends 18th meeting of chief justices of SCO member states

The 18th meeting of the Chief Justices of the Member States of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in New Delhi, India, from March 10 to 12. Gao Jinghong, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, attended the conference.

Gao addressed the opening and closing ceremonies of the meeting and delivered a speech on enhancing China's judicial transparency.

Noting that the SCO has made significant contributions to regional stability and prosperity since its establishment 22 years ago, Gao pledged to strengthen cooperation with member states to jointly implement the consensus reached by heads of states at the SCO Samarkand Summit and to build a closer SCO community with a shared future.
Attending presidents and vice-presidents of supreme courts of SCO member states held in-depth exchanges and reached extensive consensuses on such topics as "smart courts and the future of the judiciary", "promoting access to justice", and "institutional challenges faced by the judiciary".

A joint statement of the chief justices of the supreme courts of the SCO member states was adopted at the meeting.
