Selected Cases of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China named ‘Best International Publicity Book’

The Selected Cases of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China was recently included among "China's best international publicity book", the only law text among the 18 winners.

The book selection was an event hosted by the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) to celebrate the success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.  

The SPC publication was recommended by the China Book International (CBI) magazine in 2022.

Since its release in 2019 both in domestic and international markets, six Chinese editions and three English editions the series have been published, with a total of 245 selected cases ranging from criminal, civil and commercial matters, to intellectual property, maritime affairs and administration and enforcement issues that were heard and concluded by the SPC from 2015 to 2021.

According to an agreement between China's SPC and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the SPC's Bureau of International Cooperation has provided the electronic version of this series to the ECHR since December 2019 as the official text of case exchanges between the SPC and the ECHR. The series are collected by the Harvard Law School and its library, the Oxford Law School and its library, the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law, and the Law Department of the University of Tokyo in Japan. Libraries of the United Nations New York headquarters, Geneva headquarters and the International Court of Justice have all been in contact with the SPC and expressed their intention to keep the English edition of the series in their collections.

From December 2019 to December 2022, its electronic version has been downloaded more than 20,000 times on the official website of Springer Publishing Group.
