A press launch of the TV series Draw the Line, which was produced under the guidance of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), was held on Sept 17. Yang Linping, vice-president of the SPC, attended and addressed the event.

Yang said great importance needs to be attached to the literary and artistic creation of court-themed works, in a bid to illustrate the positive images of Chinese judges in the new era in safeguarding justice, to voice China's rule of law, and to demonstrate the achievements of judicial reforms since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

She stressed the importance of sticking to the correct political orientation in court-themed literary and artistic creation, which should strive to reflect China's rule-of-law culture and to promote China's rule-of-law spirit. Noting that the people's courts boast a "gold mine" of topics for literary and artistic creation, she called for more artistic works that keep up with the times and are people-oriented.

Under the guidance of the SPC, the creative team of the TV series formed a group of over 10 members to conduct researches at more than 60 people's courts at all levels throughout the country, which served as a guarantee of quality for the show. The show will be released on Sept 19 on Hunan Satellite TV, Mangguo TV and iQIYI.
