SPC releases typical commercial cases in 2021
China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Jan 29 released a list of 10 typical commercial cases decided by people's courts at all levels in the previous year.
The list was published with the aim of offering a reference and guidance for judges across the country in dealing with similar cases. All of them are of great social impact and symbolic significance.
The 10 typical cases involve personal bankruptcy reorganization, substantive merger and reorganization, disputes over liabilities for securities misrepresentation, liability of companies for harming the interests of their corporate creditors, contract disputes, and insurance contract disputes involving property loss.
The cases demonstrate the efforts made by people's courts in settling disputes, punishing and deterring illegal acts, protecting the legitimate interests of creditors, investors and enterprises, and improving business environments, to contribute to the country's high-quality economic and social development under the guidance of the Civil Code and other laws and regulations.
