SPC vice-president urges better governance of litigation at the source
Jiang Wei, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court, attended a meeting on promoting litigation source governance work held in Beijing, on Oct 15.
In recent years, courts in Beijing has been holding to a people-centered development approach and carefully implementing the deployment of the SPC, said Jiang. They have taken part in the work of governing litigation at the source and comprehensively promote the building of one-stop diversified dispute resolution mechanisms and litigation service centers. They have explored effective measures to govern litigation at the source that are suitable to both urban and rural areas and have internet-related features, forming a "Beijing mode" which integrates diversified dispute resolution approach with fast-track trial procedure.
He said that courts should continuously improve their ability to resolve disputes and to let people feel fairness and justice in every single judicial case.
He urges the courts in Beijing to summarize their experiences, absorb strong points and overcome any shortcomings so as to practically consolidate the results of their governance of litigation at the source. They should use their advantages and make coordinated efforts to improve the governance and promote it as a "Beijing model".
