SPC vice-president addresses 3rd Digital China Summit

Zhang Shuyuan, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court, attended the third Digital China Summit held at Fuzhou, East China's Fujian province, from Oct 12 to 14 and gave a speech on comprehensively deepening the smart courts construction and trial system and capacity modernization.

The SPC is implementing the strategy of building China into a country with strong cyber technology and promoting the smart courts construction vigorously, said Zhang.

Focusing on the aim of letting the people feel fairness and justice in every single judicial case and based on the intelligent construction , the courts at all levels have been promoting the construction of one-stop diversified dispute resolution and litigation services system, online litigation, which improved people's sense of gain, he said.

The deep integration between artificial intelligence and rules in the judicial sector has largely improved the quality and efficiency of trial and law enforcement work. Moreover, big data research has been strengthened which contributed to servicing judicial decision-making and social governance, said Zhang.

The results of smart court construction strongly supported judicial work during the COVID-19 epidemic

Zhang said that the courts will strengthen scientific and technological research on the artificial intelligence in the judicial field and make it practical to use. They will improve the smart courts and digital justice construction to a higher level and promote digital China construction so as to contribute to the national governance modernization.
