SPC holds meeting to coordinate work of civil trial report to NPC Standing Committee
The Supreme People’s Court (SPC) held a meeting on June 9 to coordinate its work on a special report on strengthening civil trials to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
He Rong, vice-president of the SPC, said the top court should make the special report high quality, and in the meanwhile, strengthen the trial guidance. The court should consider trial experiences comprehensively, research new situations and resolve new problems in a timely manner, respond to the public’s concerns with practical actions and improve the quality and efficiency of civil trials and the credibility of adjudication with practical measures.
When strengthening civil trials and preparing the report, the court should consider the overall interests of the country and uphold the principle of people-centered development to better serve and guarantee continuous and sound economic and social progress.
The special report should focus precisely on key points of civil trials and reflect the work’s new achievements, and outline the new situations and problems the civil trial work encountered in recent years, so as to receive the supervision of the NPC and the society.
In addition, the report should be a vehicle for improvement of litigation procedures, optimize the one-stop diversified dispute resolutions and litigation service system, strengthen online litigation and cross-jurisdiction case filing and make the judicial relief channels friendlier and more convenient.
