The Supreme People's Court held a video training session on how to use China’s online maritime case trial platform on Aug 28, completing its development.

The platform enables maritime courts around the country to conduct multi-dimensional statistical analysis of maritime cases trials, make real-time enquiries about and seize vessels, and access a maritime cases database.

By virtue of the big data analysis, the platform can help to comprehensively raise the quality and efficiency of maritime case trials.

It also enables judges to search for previous trial documents by type, which helps to build unified trial standards.

Courts are able to monitor and locate vessels in real time by collecting vessel information and tracking them on the platform's ocean map.

The platform’s instant messaging platform also facilitates communications between maritime courts.
