Senior judge urges better trials at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
A senior judge called for improving the trials of foreign-related and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-related civil and commercial cases at a forum on May 15 in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province.
Pei Xianding, full-time member of the adjudication committee of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), made the remarks at a legal forum focusing on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Courts should give full play to the judicial function, said Pei, adding that great importance must be given to the filing, application and protection of intellectual property rights.
The innovative manufacturing environment at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area should be improved, he demanded.
A stable, fair and transparent legal environment should be built in the area, according to Pei.
The event, co-sponsored by the SPC and Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, has attracted over 90 people from universities, arbitration organizations , bar associations and business circles.
