Anhui High People's Court President Dong Kaijun appeared on "Justices' Talks", a program hosted by the information bureau of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and chinacourt.org on March 4.

According to Dong, in 2018 Anhui courts accepted more than 1.18 million cases and closed over 1.13 million cases, up 12.56 percent and 17.87 percent respectively year-on-year.

They enforced 306,317cases and closed 286,253 ones, a year-on-year increase of 33.12 percent, with the closure rate rising 9.3 percentage point year-on-year to reach 93.45 percent in 2018, ranking highest among all courts in China.

The province made significant progress in various fields, such as the number of enforced cases, good results in third-party assessment, the ratio of closed cases to accepted cases, sums of money collected and improvement of a long-term mechanism for enforcement, Dong noted.

Dong said he was deeply impressed by the enforcement personnel's passion and dedication for the task, which were strong supports for solving the difficulties in enforcement.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, he stated, Anhui will strengthen theoretical study, improve its capability to prevent risks, and promote the campaign against gang crimes and the construction of long-term enforcement mechanism.

Anhui was encouraged to"be bold in taking some pioneering measure" when President Xi Jinping inspected the province in 2016.

Dong said the President Xi's remarks motivated the courts in Anhui to take the initiative to keep the province in a leading position in enforcement.
