Luo Dongchuan, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court(SPC) and the chief judge of the SPC's Intellectual Property Court met with Craig Allen, president of the US-China Business Council (USCBC) in Beijing on Mar 26.
Luo welcomed Allen and his delegation. He gave them an introduction of the Intellectual Property Court and progress made in judicial protection of intellectual property in China.
The judicial protection of intellectual property has been strengthening and the credit and influence of the country’s intellectual property law were improved in recent years, according to Luo. The establishment of the Intellectual Property Court was a major decision made from the strategic height of developing a powerful nation in terms of intellectual property as well as science and technology. The court will provide strong judicial guarantee for the innovation-driven development, he said.
Luo said he hopes USCBC will play a positive role in judicial exchanges on intellectual property between US and China.
Allen said the foundation of the Intellectual Property Court is a major progress in the field in China and is meaningful in building an international, market-driven and legislative business environment, adding that he expects more exchanges and cooperation between the SPC and the USCBC.
