Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), stressed the significance of optimizing the business climate for high-quality development and promoting judicial fairness at a panel session of the Henan delegation to the ongoing second session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing on March 5.

At the meeting, Zhou pointed out that the Government Work Report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang emphasizes the importance of improving the business climate, strengthening innovation-driven development, deepening reform and promoting a comprehensive opening-up.

He required courts at various levels in China to faithfully perform the duties conferred by the Constitution and laws to "let the people feel fairness and justice in each judicial case" and keep improving the business climate to guarantee a sound and continuous economic growth and to deepen promotion of China's rule of law.
