Top court, WIPO seek more judicial cooperation

The Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) look forward to increased judicial exchanges and cooperation, according to a recent meeting between the two sides.

Luo Dongchuan, vice-president of the SPC, welcomed the WIPO delegation led by Chen Hongbing, director of the China Office of the WIPO.

At the meeting, he introduced the intellectual property courts' significant situation and functions and showed his gratitude to the WIPO's support of the court's establishment.

The court plays an important role in deepening judicial reform and is a breakthrough of China's intellectual and litigation legal system, which is upgrading its trial system in intellectual property-related cases and modernizing trials, according to Luo.

Both sides looked forward to promoting cooperation in aspects of judicial internationalization and informatization between the SPC and the WIPO and creating a sound innovation legal environment.
