The Suixi County People's Court in South China's Guangdong province held a hearing about a traffic accident dispute on Aug 12 in a local village, but the courtroom looked a little different.

The defendant, surnamed Yang, was accused of driving an unlicensed motorcycle and then crashing into another motorbike near Shizai village. The case was taken to court due to dispute about compensation.

Since the accident site was 80 kilometers away from the downtown area, lawyers from the Suixi County People's Court set up a circuit tribunal out of a van after driving to the site to hear and resolve the case.

Within half an hour, the two sides reached an agreement during the court session. Onlookers, mostly local villagers, sought advice about their own affairs after the ruling and the circuit tribunal transformed into a legal consulting room.
