Ex-Party chief admits guilt
Mao Xiaobing, former Party chief of Xining, Qinghai province, pleaded guilty to charges of bribery and misappropriation of public funds at the Lanzhou Intermediate People's Court on Wednesday. Mao, who worked in several posts including chairman of Western Mining Group Co before becoming the city's Party chief, accepted bribes worth nearly 105 million yuan ($16 million) from 1995 to 2013 and misappropriated 400 million yuan from the company for other people's business operations. A verdict will be issued later.
