Lead-water JR bid tossed out
The High Court has rejected a bid for a judicial review (JR) into suspect plumbing works at one public housing estate of 11 embroiled in the city's lead in drinking water fiasco. Former civil servant Kwok Cheuk-kin sought to hold the Housing Authority and Water Supplies Department responsible for allegedly tainted prefabricated building components installed at the estate. Justice Kevin Zervos said the bid was premature, given an official Commission of Inquiry to determine the facts of the scandal is still ongoing.
