Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China

(Adopted at the 31st Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People’s Congress on December 29, 2007)

At its 31st Meeting, the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People’s Congress decided to make the following amendments to the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of the People’s Republic of China:

The second paragraph of Article 14 is revised to read, “A consignor or an agent for the transportation of a corpse or human remains into or out of the country must declare the matter to a frontier health and quarantine office; transport thereof, in either direction across the border, shall not be allowed until sanitary inspection proves satisfactory.”

This Decision shall go into effect as of the date of promulgation.

The Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of the People’s Republic of China shall be amended correspondingly in accordance with this Decision and promulgated anew.
