The Supreme People's Court (SPC) released nine typical civil cases involving rural affairs on Jan 23, with the aim of promoting rural vitalization through judicial support.

The cases demonstrate the SPC's commitment to protecting cultivated farming land, which is critical to food security, ecological safety and social stability.

Some of them reflect the courts' resolution to advance the reform of the rural collective property rights system -- separating ownership rights, contracting rights, and management rights for contracted rural land.

The cases also showcase the courts' efforts to support the pilot reform for commercial use of collectively owned construction land in rural areas, and to safeguard the development of modern agriculture by featuring innovated production and transaction modes.

Protection of the market order for agricultural supplies and intellectual property protection in the seed industry are also highlighted in the typical cases. Courts nationwide have cracked down on and severely punished the sale of counterfeit pesticides and fertilizers that severely damage agricultural production and the interests of farmers.
