Ten judges were chosen from 33 nominees nationwide as "my favorite judges" and the results were shown in an award ceremony aired on China's state television broadcaster.

Senior officials from the Supreme People's Court of China attended the ceremony.

The selection was officially launched on March 2 and went through four steps: recommendation from high people's courts, publicizing of potential candidates in the media, confirmation of final nominees and announcement of the final results.

The ten judges come from courts of different levels and each one has profound judicial experience.

The special program was aired on China Central Television on July 10. Typical cases and judicial working highlights were also shown in the program.

Over 200 judges from basic level courts attended the ceremony.
