Jiang Bixin, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), met with a visiting Constitutional Court delegation from Thailand led by Nurak Marpraneet on June 15 in Beijing.

Jiang reviewed the two countries’ past cooperation and coordination in the judicial field and outlined China’s achievements in judicial reform.

Legal construction is one of the top priorities in China, said Jiang, adding that a strategy has been implemented to deepen the country’s rule of law.

As information construction in the legal system proceeds, especially through better processing of judicial documents and information, a more dynamic, transparent and efficient judicial system emerges, according to Jiang.

Moreover, courts of various levels in China are turning themselves into “Smart Courts” to better serve the people and judges, Jiang said.

Nurak Marpraneet echoed Jiang as he outlined Thailand’s legal reforms and expressed his desire for closer cooperation in the law between the two countries.
