Ma Huijuan, a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC), said she was most impressed with the smart court system when invited by the court to sit in on trials or witness enforcement of court rulings.

Living in Hongsibao district, Wuzhong, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Ma said the fact that many people in her hometown are working in other places leads to a situation where they usually don't come back for trials which involve a small sum of money as their travel expenses may exceed the sum claimed. However, those who are dissatisfied with the court rulings often then return and ask the court for a retrial

She noted that to solve this issue, the People's Court of Hongsibao District has explored a new smart litigation mode which enables litigants to participate in court trials online with their phones or computers. The service not only brings convenience to litigants but saves them money.

Learning that the courts across Ningxia will try their best to build such a mechanism and a one-stop litigation service center with Ningxia characteristics this year, Ma said she believes that the mode will significantly relieve people's litigation burden.

Ma also raised two suggestions. First, she expected the courts to improve their transparency in a mobile internet environment to place adjudicatory and enforcement powers under the supervision of the public. Second, she expected the courts to make full use of existing procedures in order to guarantee the effect of the work.
