Great improvements can be seen in courts of East China’s Jiangxi province.

“A lot of changes and booming highlights are my impression of the courts in Jiangxi province,” said Wen Fei, an NPC deputy.

Establishment of smart courts has proved successful, providing great convenience for litigants. Except for personal court appearances, all procedures needed for litigations can be done by smartphones.

The courts have become more effective, and have attained a more than 90 percent case settlement rate.

“It’s not easy for courts to make it; they tried many methods to improve efficiency,” said Wen.

Judicial system reform in the courts also won the applause of Wen. “It’s essential for courts to have a group of professional and elite judges. Talented judges are back to decide cases in the first instance, which is beneficial to the authority of laws and the fairness of the judicature,” said Wen.

“The public are more confident of the fairness and authority of cases decisions now that chief judges and court presidents are responsible for first instance cases. It’s very difficult to make it. I should applaud them.”

At the same time, Wen advised courts to provide good ideas and legal services for businesses when they encounter troubles.
