On April 28, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) held a symposium with national exemplary individuals from the court system.
Zhang Jun, president of the SPC, met with the exemplary individuals at the event. He acknowledged their diverse experiences and distinctive achievements, noting that they all share a common commitment to justice, the law, and the service to the people. Their outstanding conduct exemplifies the values of China’s judiciary, showcasing dedication, continuity, and progress, he noted.
Zhang urged courts nationwide to draw inspiration from these role models, emphasizing the importance of promoting the ethos of work as well as craftsmanship. He also urged the judiciary to recognize and promote exemplary individuals, fostering a stronger momentum for advancing court work in the new era.
Li Chenglin, head of the SPC’s Political Department, highlighted in his remarks that being named a national exemplary individual is not only a great honor but also carries a significant professional responsibility. He praised the honorees for their political conviction, dedication to public service, practical work ethic, and personal integrity, which is reflected in their efforts on the front lines of justice, urging courts at all levels to learn from them.
Deng Xiuming, vice-president of the SPC, along with representatives from the Political Department of the SPC, also attended the event.
