Enforcement actions live-streamed in Yunnan
A live streaming event themed on "Secure a Decisive Victory in Resolving the Problem of Difficult Enforcement" was held on Jan 16 in Qujing, Yunnan province.
Several trials on charges of refusing to obey judgments or orders and other civil affairs were live streamed for two hours, gaining more than 2,800 hits.
According to Luo Jiancai, head of the executive office of the Qujing Intermediate People's Court, courts in the city have transferred 129 suspects of 108 cases for the crime of refusing to obey a judgment or order and sentenced 33 offenders since 2016.
In addition, the Qilin district court in Qujing released a total of 13 million yuan ($1.92 million) of enforcement relief funds, which included more than 400,000 yuan for 43 rural migrant workers and over 1.1 million yuan for 44 applicants whose cases were not concluded.
Ding Ruijiang, member of the Qujing Political Consultative Committee, watched the entire live-stream program and spoke highly of the Qujing courts' innovative moves in offering relief funds to people who applied for enforcement.
The live streaming was sponsored by the information bureau and the executive office of the Supreme People's Court and the Yunnan Provincial High People's Court.
