New mechanism for intl commercial dispute key to global business climate
Building an international commercial dispute settlement mechanism for the new era is a must to improve the global business climate, according to Luo Dongchuan, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC).
Luo pointed out the need for courts specialized in foreign-related commercial cases at the third Qianhai Legal Intelligence Forum which opened on Nov 3 in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
He affirmed the contribution by the China International Commercial Court to the current international commercial dispute settlement mechanism and said the SPC will continue to make efforts to find improvements.
Luo also explained that the SPC is now building a one-stop platform to resolve disputes on the basis that all parties should be accorded respect to improve legal services concerning foreign affairs and optimize China's business climate.
The forum, focused on international commercial litigation and mechanisms of multiple dispute resolution, attracted more than 200 professional people from judicial organizations, government departments, lawyer associations and academic institutes.
