Top court sets up International Commercial Expert Committee
The Supreme People’s Court (SPC) established a 32-member committee of international commercial experts on Aug 26.
The committee was set up to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation to promote smooth development of international commercial trial work and find multiple ways to handle international commercial disputes including mediation, arbitration and litigation.
The committee members include heads of international organizations, legal experts, renowned scholars, senior judges and lawyers from different countries and regions of different legal systems.
The committee will advise on ways to resolve international commercial disputes and offer suggestions on dispute-related legal issues as well as on development of the rules, programs and judicial interpretations and policies to be elaborated by the SPC.
The SPC’s first and second international commercial courts were set up in Shenzhen and Xi’an on June 29.
