Zhou Qiang: President and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court

Zhou was born in April 1960, in Huangmei county,Hubei province. He studied civil law at the Southwest University of Political Science Law and has a master’s degree in law. He began his career in August 1976 and joined the Communist Party in September 1978. He is a member of the 18th Party Central Committee, and the Party secretary, president, and chief justice of the Supreme People's Court. He was also a member of the 16th, 17th and 18th Party central committees, and a Standing Committee member of the 9th National People's Congress.

Shen Deyong: Executive vice-president of the Supreme People's Court and Grand Justice of the first rank

Shen was born in March 1954, in Xiushui county, Jiangxi province. He studied criminal procedural law at the China University of Political Science and Law, and has a master’s degree in law. He began work in December 1977 and joined the Communist Party in May 1972 and is a member of the 18th Party Central Committee, a deputy Party secretary of the Supreme People's Court (minister rank), and an executive vice-president and member of the court’s judicial committee. He was a member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the 16th and 17th Party central committees and a member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection standing committee of the 17th Party Central Committee.

Jiang Bixin: Vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court and Grand Justice of the second rank

Jiang was born in September 1956, in Zhijiang, Hubei province.He studied constitutional and administrative law at the Peking University School of Law and has a PhD in law. He began work in January 1985 and joined the Communist Party in August 1975 and is a member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the 18th Party Central Committee and a member of its standing committee. He is also the deputy secretary of the Party of the Supreme People's Court, a vice-president of the court, and a member of the court’s judicial committee.

Li Shaoping: Vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court and Grand Justice of the second rank

Li was born in October 1956, in Wuxiang county, Shanxi province.He majors in criminal law at the Southwest University of Political Science & Law,has a master’s degree in law and has the rank of professor. He began work in April 1975 and joined the Communist Party in June 1977 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, a vice-president of the court, a member of the court’s judicial committee, and a deputy to the 12th National People's Congress.

Nan was born in April 1954, in Hanzhong, Shaanxi province. He studied law in the Peking University Law School and has a master’s degree in law. He began work in December 1969 and joined the Communist Party in October 1974 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, a vice-president of the court, and a member of the court’s judicial committee.

Jing was born in November 1960, in Shenzhou, Hebei province. He studied procedural law at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law and has a master’s degree in law from an on-the-job postgraduate program. He began work in July 1982 and joined the Communist Party in April 1981 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, a vice-president of the court, and a member of the court’s judicial committee.

Huang Ermei: Vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court and Grand Justice of the second rank

Huang was born in December 1951, in Zhongshan, Guangdong province. She studied criminal law at Peking University Law School and got a master’s degree in law through an on-the-job postgraduate program. She began work in September 1968 and joined the Communist Party in June 1976 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, a vice-president of the court, a member of the court’s judicial committee, and a member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Zhang was born in May 1953 in Xianning, Hubei province. He studied political science and law at the Party School of the Party Central Committee and has a master’s degree in law. He began work in April 1969 and joined the Communist Party in March 1975 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, head of the court’s discipline inspection team, and a member of its judicial committee.

He was born in October 1962, in Linyi county, Shandong province. She studied procedural law at the China University of Political Science and Law and has a PhD in law from an on-the-job postgraduate program. She began work in August 1984 and joined the Communist Party in June 1984 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, a vice-president of the court, and a member of its judicial committee.

Tao Kaiyuan: Vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court and Grand Justice of the second rank

Tao was born in March 1964, in Xiangtan, Hunan province. She studied international law at Wuhan University and has a PhD in law and a rank of professor. She began work in June 1988 and joined the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy in July 2006. She is now a vice-president of the Supreme People's Court, a member of the court’s judicial committee and a member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. She is also a member of the China Association for Promoting Democracy Central Committee’s standing committee, and chairwoman of the Guangdong provincial CAPD committee.

Xu was born in September 1964, in Danyang, Jiangsu province. He studied international law at the East China University of Political Science and Law and has a master’s degree in law. He began work in August 1990 and joined the Communist Party in July 1986 and is now a member of the Supreme People's Court Party Leadership Group, director of the court’s political department, Party secretary of the court, and a member of the court’s judicial committee.

Sun, who was born in November 1956, in Liaocheng, Shandong province. He studied law at Peking University and has a master’s degree in law. He began work in July 1984 and joined the Communist Party in January 1977 and is now a member of the court’s judicial committee and a deputy to the 12th National People’s Congress.

Liu was born in January 1954, in Huairen county, Shanxi province. He studied law at the China University of Political Science and Law and has a bachelor’s degree in law through an on-the-job program. He began work in August 1975 and joined the Communist Party in August 1974 and a member of the Supreme People’s Court judicial committee.

Du was born in January 1954, in Ya’an, Sichuan province. He studied jurisprudence at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law and has a master’s degree in law. He began work in September 1970 and joined the Communist Party in April 1981 and is now a member of the Supreme People’s Court’s judicial committee.

Hu was born in September 1955, in Huoqiu county, Anhui province, and is a member of the Supreme People’s Court judicial committee (vice-minister level) and a second-class grand justice. He studied criminal law at Renmin University and has a PhD in law. He began work in September 1971 and joined the Communist Party in April 1985 and is now a member of the Supreme People’s Court’s judicial committee, and president of the Second Circuit Court.

Liu was born in March 1963, in Yanjin county, Henan province. He studied international law at the University of International Business and Economics Law School and has a PhD in law. He began work in July 1987 and joined the Communist Party July 1986 and is now a member of the Supreme People’s Court’s judicial committee, president of the First Circuit Court, and director of the law enforcement dept of the Supreme People's Court.
